To me, Vaettir Farming is the better of the two options. Halloween aside, you get:
- Holiday Items
- More golds than you can shake a stick at *Shakes stick* See?
- Glacial Stones (Secondary source of income @ 7-10k per 100
- Heaps of Norn Reputation
Preparations:
- Empty your Inventory
- Grab a Heavy Equipment Pack (It only holds weapons and armor but becomes incredibly handy)
- Grab your Mercantile Summoning Stones
- Running Multi Loaders and bringing a Mule with you will solve any inventory issues and make getting back to the portal instantaneous

1. Raptor farming gives far more kills/min than Vaettirs therefore far more holiday items
2. Raptors also give more golds than you can shake a stick at *Shakes stick* See?
4. Raptors give heaps of Asura Reputation.
Your only benefit is Glacial Stones - it's just not worth it during events like Halloween.

Hissy I will have to respectfully disagree with you a little bit here on one point, the gold items. Whenever I farm vaettirs I usually get anywhere from 1-3 golds per run from killing the northern mob of 36, I do not get as many golds from the raptors. Other than conches, raptors do not seem to drop alot of caster weapons whereas vaettirs drop all kinds of staves, wands and focus items, as well as swords, axes and shields. Selling staff wrappings of enchanting for 5k, "Aptitude not Attitude" inscriptions for 5k and "Forget me Not" inscriptions for 20-25k is a nice side benefit from vaettir farming.

Yes, vaettir farming in my opinion is superior to raptor farming in every way and if your lucky to be able to use a multi loader and bring a mule along, you can increase the run speeds and virtually not have to go back, not untill both players are knee deep in halloween items, golds and glacial stones anyways.

I haven't farmed Vaettirs since the keg nerf - but when I did, the number of golds/hour I got was worse than Raptors.
Currently, I typically fill my inventory in 25-30 minutes of Raptor farming, and there's usually 5-15 golds amongst the loot. And some gold scrolls, and a bunch of blue scrolls. Vaettirs may give more, but Raptors still drop plenty. And when event items are dropping I don't care about gold items anyway.
Mind you, it could be that the type of build makes a difference - kegs killed many at once. Like when I leech W/N raptor farmers - all Raptors die at once and their drops seem pretty poor. Whereas my E/Me, although 10-15 seconds slower than W/N, seems to get a lot more loot (one-at-a-time kills from Sliver armour).

That's right - Raptors only drop martial weapons. Definitely farm Vaettirs if you want caster weapons and mods.
The thing is... in my opinion, whatever regular drops you get from Vaettirs - they won't make up for the lower amount of event items at times like Halloween.
The trade value of items/mods means little to me anyway. I don't have much use for cash these days, and trading is unbearable. I farm for weapons/mods to use myself and event items that are useful, like Pumpkin Pies, Cupcakes, etc. I merch everything I can't use/salvage - the cash and progress in Wisdom is just gravy.

arghh its still going on lol - same questions and answers ( and arguements ) .
Lets face it no matter what - some say raptors and some say vaetires .
Farm either or both - there you go .
Why not talk about orr emb farming - wow that used to be main farming spot before eotn and yet its been lost as ppl want to farm eotn .
55 monk / avatar of bal derv / 600/smite (hm ) and quite a few others can farm them easily and before eotn it was one of the most used for event drops - so easy to farm and oh yea for 2 events the orr embs can be exchanged to collectors - shame eotn hasnt that.
So id say forget raptors/vaetires and farm at bergen/cursed lands/gates of kryta - easy kills with monks , golds/tomes/picks ... looks like similar drops to eotn and then orr emb bonus on top.
el perma shadow - glad to see someone else has gd sense - may even bump into your 55 monk somewhere

The truth is, this whole 'Which is better" talk is bunk. When Keg farming was around, it was hands down superior. Fact of the matter is you can knock out raptors at a faster rate now. Either way, you can just saddle up like me:Get all affairs in order now and get a couple days dedicated to farming the shit outta everything. Unless GW is all you have during this time of year...it only takes 2-3 days to get mad stacks, and petty cash that can buy you more stacks.
